4LAB Blood Letting Activity - 20 July 2010



Donating blood is one of the most important, selfless, and humanitarian act that a human can do and it doesn't cost a penny. 


On 20 July 2010, a Blood Letting Activity spearheaded by Ms Ma Theresa F Jael, RMT, Lucena City Chapter Service representative was held at  Headquarters, 4th Light Armor Battalion, LAD. The Masigasigs donated 8,550cc of blood to help the PNRC's blood bank reserve which indeed is a long way in saving the lives of our brothers in times of crisis.

LAKBAY ARAL of Brgy Officials at the Home of Masigasig Troopers

Brgy officials of Brgy Bantulinao, Calauag, Quezon conducts Lakbay Aral at Headquarters, 4th Light Armor (Masigasig) Battalion, LAD, PA on 19 July 2010. The activity started with a simple program followed by film showing on history of the Light Armor Division, its history, organization, and Armored Fighting Vehicle's in the Phil Army inventory and a documentary on on Drug Addiction - to be more familiar to most commonly abused drugs and its effects. To wrap-up the visit, a static display on Mechanized Infantry Squad was also presented by the Masigasigs with the Commando V150 as the carrier vehicle for them to have a better appreciation on how cavalry men operate the AV's.

4LAB Supports QMC Earthquake Drill

The 4th Light Armor (Masigasig) Battalion supported the Quezon Medical Center, Lucena City during their Earthquake Drill on 16 July 2010. Your 4LAB troopers acted as the rescuers and observers. The drill was evaluated by Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC) headed by Dr Henry Buzar. The 4th Light Armor (Masigasig) Battalion DRRO Teams were previosly trained by Quezon Province PDCC on Disaster Relief and Rescue Operations last year. (4LAB DRRO Teams Training).

1LT ARIEL CORTEZ (CAV) PA, Hqs Commandant, gave his feedbacks/observations during evaluation of the drill.

Evaluation includes personal safety during and after the earthquake, evacuation routes, organization of safety and evacuation teams, rescue staging areas, organization and location of the Incident Command Center, search lights, and others. Evaluators and observers gave valuable feedbacks to what the hospital need in order to reduce or prevent casualties in the event of an earthquake. After the evaluation, the hospital management and staff has realized that they should always be ready not only in their workplace but even in their homes as well. It includes the things required during emergencies, crafting of SOPs and the conduct continuous reminders to the staff, other personnel and patients of the hospital.

Team Masigasig: Katuwang ng Quezon sa Malinis na Kapaligiran at Luntiang Kalikasan - A Tree Planting Activity

Climate change is no longer just an environmentalist's issue. It has gradually evolved into a problem that require collective expertise and full support of everyone.

On 13 July 2010, the unit spearheaded the planting of five hundred Mahogany trees at Purok Puting Buhangin, Brgy Cotta, Lucena City with the support and participation of the Governor's Office, Task Force Lucena, Local Government officials of Brgy Cotta, PLDT-SMART Experience Center-Lucena City, Junior Chamber Inc- Lucena City, Kiwanis Club of Lucena, Lucena City Darters Asso., DENR, and students and teachers of Cotta National High School. The occasion started with simple program and immediately followed by Tree Planting activity.

4LAB Joins National Disaster Consciousness Month 2010 Celebration


On 05 July 2010, Masigasig troopers once again showed their support to the National Disaster Coordinating Council during the celebration of National Disaster Consciousness  Month 2010. The event was participated  by the 4LAB, LAD, SOLCOM, AFP, QPPO and Local Government Units of Quezon Province. The celebration started with a motorcade within Lucena City followed by Flag Raising Ceremony with the newly installed Governor of Quezon Province Honorable David "Jay-Jay" Suarez.
