AV Drivers Undergo Two-Week Refresher Training on Defensive Driving

Defensive driving is defined as preventing crashes before they occur; it is the demonstration of positive attitude, awareness and right defensive driving skills.

The 4th Light Armor (Masigasig) Battalion conducted a refresher training on defensive driving from 19 to 30 April 2010 to instill upon and re-indoctrinate the designated drivers of armored and utility vehicles on road safety to avoid accidents. The focus of the training is to  re-echo the safe practices and laws designed to prevent unnecessary loss of lives and destruction of properties. With the help of guest lecturers from LTO-Lucena City and TMG Region 4,  the unit was able to elucidate the topics that goes beyond mastery of the rules of the road and basics of defensive driving.

After a week of classroom instructions and lectures, the students were evaluated by tests and practical driving along the national highway. The written exams concentrated on the identification of traffic signs and their meanings.  Scenarios were also given and the students were required to discuss the right course of action that they should undertake.
