29 April 2010 - The HHCo of 4th Light Armor (Masigasig) Battalion, LAD conducted static display to Special Children of Harvest of Hope Foundation School. Together with their parents and teachers, the forty seven pupils visited Camp Guillermo Nakar in Lucena City to familiarize themselves with the men in uniform and vehicles that they are using.
Upon their arrival at Hqs, 4LAB, parents, teachers and pupils of Harvest of Hope Foundation, Inc were briefed on the capabilities of Commando V-150, one of the armor fighting vehicles in the unit's inventory. Later, they were given the chance to view the AV and take souvenir pictures together with some Masigasig troopers.
Before leaving, Ms Adeluisa B Martinez, principal of the school expressed her thanks for the warm welcome and accommodation. She mentioned that special children need extra love, attention and care for healthy growth both emotionally and intellectually. She further explained that in dealing with these children, we shouldn't let them feel that they lack something or are deficient in any way compared with normal children. While these special children are aware of their deficiency, we should not make it obvious. Instead, help them cope with the realities of life by understanding and supporting them.
4LAB salutes all the parents and teachers of Harvest of Hope Foundation School for their PATIENCE and LOVE for these children. You are always welcome here!
