4th LAB Seal
The GRAY color background symbolizes the non-partisan of the AFP.
The MAYON VOLCANO, the famous cone-shaped volcano found in Bicol region, represents the pride of 4LAB personnel to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Filipino people.
The TAMARAW, a wild animal found only in Mindoro Island, characterizes the bravery and resiliency of the Army soldier.
The RICE FIELD symbolizes the main livelihood of the Southern Tagalog and Bicol region.
The RENAULT FT 17 TANK, the first tank used by the Commonwealth Philippine Army troops, signifies the historical background of the mechanized cavalry on armored cavalry tactics during the defense of Bataan when the 2nd Regular Division’s Bren Gun Carrier Company engaged the Japanese troops in 1942.
The SABER, the universally acknowledged symbol for cavalry, symbolizes the traditional use of the bladed weapon with armor shield. It unsheathes and has its cutting edge up to symbolize the courage and readiness of the Filipino soldiers. The saber takes design of General Emilio Aguinaldo’s official sword.
The SUN denotes that the Philippine Army formed in 1897. The symbol was used in the original insignia during the revolutionary period with its rays representing the eight (8) provinces that first revolted against Spain.
The GREEN color indicates the distinctive color assigned to the cavalry in a decree issued by the president Emilio Aguinaldo on 30 July 1898.
The YELLOW symbolizes the 4LAB personnel are ripened and equipped soldiers with dignity, honor and loyalty to the nation and to its people.
The FIGURE 4 represents the distinctive number assigned to the unit.
The “MASIGASIG” denotes the namesake of the unit.
The LIGHT ARMOR indicates the category of the unit.
