Light Armor Division Seal

The seal of the Light Armor Division is the first and the only in the AFP to be done in contemporary design and was registered in the nation's archive. It was executed by Mr. Ed Castillo, an internationally-renowned filipino artist. For the following reasons:  To stress the innovative spirit which is the foundation of unit's self-reliance effort andto camouflage the destructive power of the tank whichis very prominent in the traditional arts: to stress that this destructive weapon will be used only as a last resort.

The seal designated in a pentagonal shield to signify that the unit is organic to the Philippine Army.

In the yellow part, there appears a dove of peace surging up and forward to represent speed and communication.

In the blue part, at the base of the cluster of the triangles is the sleek figure of the soldier clearly discernible representing the light armor division itself because no matter how sophisticated the equipment may be, the outcome for any endeavor still rests on the soldier.

In the red part, the tank is discernible and its cannon does not point to anyone else but the sun which represents firepower.

The round object delineated in white at the center represents the sun which is the guiding principle of humanity. It is a camouflage representation of the mouth of the cannon.

The cross red bolo and kris signify the unit's participation in the anti-dissidence campaign in the south.

The whole background is supposed to be gray projecting the new military conviction of humanity and calmness in times of stress.
