4LAB Joins 112th Independence Day Celebration in Lucena City

In connection with the 112th Anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence on 12 June 2010 with this year's theme:" Kalayaan: Tagumpay ng Bayan", Souther Luzon Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines  conducted CMO activities to promote goodwill and to project a good image of the AFP.

Part of the activities is the conduct of Static Display of the 4th Light Armor (Masigasig) Battalion, Light Armor Division, Philippine Army at the Pacific Mall, Brgy Iyam, Lucena City on 12 June 2010. Commando V-150 of the unit was displayed for the visitors to have a glimpse of what the Army has in its Armor inventory and to consider that the Army is not only for combat but also their "Big Brother".
The crew also readily answered visitors' questions about armor operations, its role and mission as well as the characteristic, capabilities and limitations of the Commando V-150 armor vehicle. Likewise, guests were allowed to have their pictures taken with our troops and to fulfill their excitement on the armor vehicle.

The Commando V-150 is a wheeled Armored fighting Vehicle in the Philippine Army's inventory. It has front wheel drive capability, and constructed of ballistically-treated homogeneous steel plates. It is primary designed for internal security operation and manufactured by Cadillac Gage of the US. It is armed with Caliber 50 M2 HB HMG and  a 7.62mm co-axial M240MG in a 1 meter, fully enclosed, one man turret. The weapons may be fired electrically or manually.
