In fulfillment of the Philippine Army's mandate as partner in nation building, the 43rd Light Armor Company (43LAC), 4LAB, LAD, PA participated in the nationwide maintenance program of the Department of Education dubbed "Bayanihan Para Sa Kabataan 2010" (Brigada Eskwela) in Two (2) Primary Schools within 2ID AOR on 25 May 2010 at Pinagsabangan Elementary School, Naujan Oriental Mindoro facilitated its 3rd Light Armor Platoon and on 31 May to 03 June 2010 at Elementary Department, University of Rizal System (URS), Tanay, Rizal conducted by its Headquarters Platoon.
Through the active linkaging effort between the personnel of the unit and the faculty of Elementary Department, University of Rizal System (URS) Tanay Rizal and Pinagsabangan Elementary School, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, the successful five (5) day Bayanihan activity was the first civilian-military undertaking conducted at the URS campus.
On the other hand, the unit fervently provides support to its adopted school, Pinagsabangan Elementary School in Oriental Mindoro since 2007. The tangible accomplishments of the activity are as follows: Minor repair of three (3) classroom ceiling, windows and rest room; repainting of Eight (8) building roof; maintenance of landscape within school premises; installation and repair of electrical system in four(4) classrooms; and varnishing of sixty seven (67) student chairs and tables.
Above all these accomplishments are the intangible gains not only for the unit but the AFP in general: alliance building; fostered rapport with civilian sector particularly the parents and teachers; enhance relationship in government agencies (LGU & DEPED); and most importantly, this activity developed the trust and confidence of the populace which is our ultimate objective in ISO.
The 43LAC-URS Brigada Eskwela held its closing ceremony on 07 June 2010 highlighted by a ceremonial oath of undertaking to support future activities of the participants.
A certificate of appreciation was also presented to the unit by Prof. ALLEN U. BAUTISTA Chancellor, URS in greatfull recognition of the unit's voluntary effort in the conduct of the activity. The presentation was witnessed by the parents, Teachers and students of the school.
